Let's journey back to a time when public speaking seemed like an insurmountable mountain for me. It's 27 years ago, my first official networking event. My heart raced, my palms sweat, and when it came time for me to introduce myself, I couldn't even recall my own name, let alone articulate my thoughts. It was a nerve-wracking experience, to say the least. So what, right? It's not a measure of my worth, right? Correct! It wasn't and I didn't give it a moments thought, until, a year later, at the Canadian Country Music awards, when I had the opportunity to meet country music legend, Garth Brooks, and history repeated itself. Garth turned to me, took my hand in his, and asked me my name. That familiar pounding heart, sweaty palms and wobbly legs took over, my thoughts drained from my mind, and yes, just like a year earlier, I could not recall my name. Mortified? oh, yes, to say the least. I had to get this under control and discover the source of my speaking anxiety. From that moment on, I made a commitment to conquer my fears and master the art of public speaking. I joined a Toastmasters club, delved into countless books on the subject, and studied university-level public speaking courses at the esteemed University of Waterloo. Through dedication, practice, and a relentless pursuit of improvement, I transformed from a nervous wreck to a confident speaker. But my journey didn't end there. As the world embraced the digital age, the 2020 global pandemic accelerated the need to master online public speaking for both professionals and creators alike. 🎭 Hey Reader! Shakespeare’s famous line, “All the world’s a stage,” captures the 💗of public speaking? Don't you agree? Every time you step into a meeting, give a presentation, or even introduce yourself, you’re stepping onto your stage. And whether your “audience” is one person or a hundred, you have a chance to connect, inspire, and own the moment–own the stage. But here’s the thing:Many people let fear or doubt take centre stage instead. Their nerves, self-criticism, or “what-if-I-mess-up”...

You can feel the energy in the room, gauge audience reactions in real time, and adjust your delivery in real-time. But in-person presentations also demand additional preparation, a strong stage presence and the ability to command a live...
